SESRIC Statistics Internship Programme

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) offers internships to highly motivated and successful young people at SESRIC headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, with a minimum duration of four weeks.  Statistics Internship Programme seeks interns especially in the following fields: statistics, economics, business, banking and finance, mathematics and other related fields involving data literacy.

The Programme is open to all candidates who are either nationals of the OIC Member Countries or belong to a Muslim Community. Candidates must be university students or graduates (BA/BSc, MA/MSc, and DPhil/PhD) and must possess working level of English. Fluency in one of the other two official OIC languages (Arabic or French) is an asset.

The Programme provides university students opportunities to study and work that provide hands-on experience, as well as to improve their data skills in an international environment. The interns are, according to their background, expected to fulfil the following scope of work duties:

  • Record and format different data sets diligently and carefully,
  • Analyze data with basic statistical methods and visualization techniques, interprets results, and provides written summaries of data analyses,
  • Conduct analytical research on various socio-economic issues
  • Assist in the translation of statistical documents
  • Follow internal processes and procedures;

Interns are responsible for their own living accommodations. Internship is available only at SESRIC headquarters in Ankara, Turkey, with a minimum duration of four weeks. Successful interns will be awarded SESRIC Internship Certificate.

  • Statement of Purpose (SoP)
  • A copy of Identification Card and/or Passport
  • A copy of Transcript and/or Diploma
  • A copy of Student Certificate (if currently pursuing a degree)
  • Digital Photo

Only those identified for an assignment will be contacted to discuss their interest and availability. Candidates are selected on a competitive basis.
