Workshop on Project Assessment & Evaluation

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), in collaboration with Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of IDB, organized a training workshop on “Project Assessment and Evaluation” in Ankara, Turkey on 12-16 May 2014.

The main objective of the training workshop was to enhance regional cooperation in Member States in terms of increasing their capacity on project assessment and evaluation. In this respect, project leaders, managers, and coordinators from Member States namely, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan in the field of economics, agriculture, energy, and reconstruction projects participated in the workshop. The workshop was also attended by the representatives of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC).

The workshop heard several presentations on techniques used by the Project Implementation Unit (PMU) of the Member States in their assessing & evaluating progress in partnered projects, as well as project management concepts and project risk management and best practices and experiences.
