International Statistical Institute Regional Statistics Conference 2014

The International Statistical Institute Regional Statistics Conference 2014 (ISI-RSC 2014) organized by International Statistical Institute South East Asia Regional Network (ISI-SEA Network) was held at Sasana Kijang (Bank Negara Malaysia's Centre for Knowledge and Learning Excellence) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 16-19 November 2014.

The theme of the conference hosted Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia), Department of Statistics, Malaysia (DOSM) and Malaysia Institute of Statistics (ISM) was "Statistical Science for a Better Tomorrow". Through the wide scope of the theme, it was aimed to attract participants with diverse interests and to provide broad opportunities for participants to share information and expertise while also learning from peers around the world. In this regard, the conference aimed to bring together researchers and practitioners who are actively involved in statistical science in academia, industry, national statistical offices, national and international agencies, central banks, as well as users and policymakers from around the world to discuss new developments in statistical science.

There were plenary sessions and parallel sessions with invited and contributed papers. The topics included research, applications and best practices involved in knowledge discovery and innovation. The conference was preceded by workshops and a seminar of the Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics.
