Training Workshop on ‘‘Carriage of Dangerous Goods: the legal framework and challenges for employees’’

SESRIC organised, in collaboration with Turkish State Railways (TCDD), Middle-East Railway Training Center (MERTCe) and International Union of Railways (UIC), a training workshop on the “Carriage of Dangerous Goods: the legal framework and challenges for employees” on 02-04 June at Eskişehir, Turkey.

The workshop targetted senior managers of training and investment, managers of human resource departments, railway traffic auditors, railway traffic operating staff, employees who were responsible for dangerous goods transportation (DGT), managers and chiefs in charge of wagons and rolling stocks, and safety management system staff.

The course aimed to render comprehensive information of international regulations which determine legal frame of carrying dangerous goods by rail and to acknowledge the process & tools for quality management to the target groups.

The three day course mainly covered the following topics:

  • The legal framework
  • Examples of implementation in EU and Middle East countries
  • Quality Management System: a tool for Management, Training and Safety
