Training Course on 'Classifications' in Kuwait

In accordance with its 2015 Annual Work Plan, SESRIC organized the training course on ‘Classifications’ at Kuwait Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on 15-17 December 2015, within the framework of the Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme. The course was conducted by Mrs. Asmaa Abdelrasoul Mohamed, Expert at Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAMPAS) of Egypt with participation of relevant officials of CSB.

As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009); Classifications – a statistical activity category under the Demographic and social statistics – covers activities related to developing, managing, maintaining and harmonizing economic, social and environmental classifications.

The course included discussion activities and covered the following topics:

  • Definition of international classifications, relevance and objective of the preparation for the field of statistics
  • Lectures on the classification of economic activity (ISIC.4) components, issued, how to use it
  • A discussion on the classification of economic activity (ISIC.4) and Empirical problems
  • Classification of Statistical Activities (components, reissued, how to use it)
