The 3^rd International Congress of Technology Addiction, hosted by the Turkish Green Crescent Society in Istanbul, Turkey on 3-4 May 2016, brought together specialised experts on technology addiction, as well as representatives of governments, regional and international institutions and NGOs. The congress included activities aimed at building a scientific platform for discussions, solutions, and practical suggestions about the growing effects of excessive and inappropriate use of technology.

In this regard, the 3^rd International Congress of Technology Addiction presented an interactive programme including panels and conferences on topics such as pathologic internet usage, video gaming addiction, mobile phone addiction, cyber bullying and cyber security, social media, online gambling, postural disorders, and shopping addiction. In this respect, the congress provided a unique opportunity for researchers, practitioners and policy makers across countries and disciplines to discuss latest findings on prevention, treatment, and control of technology addiction.
