Training on ‘Enhancing the Capacity of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies’

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and the Centre for Middle Eastern Strategic Studies (ORSAM) jointly organised a training program for enhancing the capacity of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, within the framework of its OIC NGO Capacity Building Programme, on 16-20 May 2016 in Ankara, Turkey.

The main objective of the program was to increase the research capacity of the Centre through organising a series of training sessions and study visits to the various Turkish governmental institutions, think-tanks and research centres in Ankara.

The opening session of the training program started with welcoming remarks of Prof. Şaban Kardaş President of ORSAM and Mr. Nabil M. Dabour, Assistant General Director of SESRIC. Hussein Aslan, Political Director of Al-Nahrain Center and Hussein Hardan, Head of Al Huda Strategic Research Center delivered also speeches at the opening.

Within the scope of the program, in the first and second day of the training, the participants visited, Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Prime Ministry of the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Turkey Office of the Prime Minister Directorate General of Press and Information, Prime Ministry Office of Public Diplomacy, Presidency for Turks Abroad, and Prime Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the third day of the training the group visited SESRIC and the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA).

Mr. Nabil Dabour; Director of Economic and Social Research Department, Ms. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk; Director of Statistics and Information Department, and Mr. Mehmet Fatih Serenli; Director of Training and Technical Cooperation Department welcomed the participants of the training and Mr. Nabil Dabour expressed SESRIC’s gratitude to Al-Nahrain Center and ORSAM for their cooperation in the implementation of this important training.
