SESRIC signed MoU with the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET)

SESRIC and the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate and facilitate collaboration between both organisations in matters of mutual interest and to establish necessary modalities for their implementation. The MoU was signed by H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC, and Dr. Mohannad Al-Nsour, Executive Director of EMPHNET in Amman, Jordan on 17 August 2016.

 

The MoU aims at improving communication, sharing information and enhancing collaboration between SESRIC, EMPHNET and other relevant organizations in the area of public health within the framework of the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action 2014-2023. Moreover, the parties shall organise training programs, seminars, workshops and exchange technical expertise on research, statistical analysis, capacity building and consultation for the development of OIC Member Countries.

EMPHNET is a non-for-profit organization that strives to strengthen public health systems through capacity building, research, knowledge exchange and collaboration. EMPHNET has built national and regional capacities in several public health areas, such as outbreak investigation and rapid response, applied epidemiology, communicable and non-communicable diseases, biorisk management, humanitarian response and global health security.
