Training Course on ‘Agricultural Censuses and Registers’ in Maldives

In accordance with its 2017 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Agricultural Censuses and Registers’ at National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of Maldives on 10 – 12 October 2017.

The Training Course was conducted by Mr. Kadarmanto, Expert from BPS-Statistics Indonesia, with the participation of 17 officials of the NBS.

As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009; http://goo.gl/olg3Tz); Agricultural Censuses and Registers – covers methodology and organization of economic and agricultural censuses, development and maintenance of statistical business and agricultural registers.

The Training Course on ‘Agricultural Censuses and Registers’ included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

  • Importance of Census of Agriculture,
  • Use of Registers as a source of Census data,
  • Census data collection method, and
  • Data Analysis, Reporting and Dissemination
