The agreement was signed by H.E Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC and the Governor of Malatya, Mr. Ali Kaban at the headquarters of SESRIC in Ankara, Turkey. Within the scope of this agreement, required local transfers and other logistical support throughout the study visit and social programmes will be facilitated under the generous hospitality of the Governorship of Malatya as well as taking the appropriate security measurements for the hosting of the event.

Funded by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC), the project seeks to increase the capacity of the relevant government officials from Ministries or Departments of Tourism of 13 selected OIC Countries in a 4-day training program and study visit to be conducted in Malatya Province.

Due to its rich and diverse set of natural, historical and cultural attraction dating back to the Ottoman and Seljuk Empires, Malatya offers a unique opportunity for the participants to study the city as a case of Muslim Friendly Tourism (MFT) destination and industry development which can be replicated in their respective countries for advancing social and economic development and transformation.
