Panel Session on “OSH Regional Cooperation and Networks”

SESRIC chaired a panel session on “OSH Regional Cooperation and Networks” that took place during the 9th International Conference on Occupational Health and Safety, which was organized by the Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (DGOHS) of Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Republic of Turkey on the theme of “Coordination and Cooperation in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)” on 6-9 May 2018 in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.

Moderated by Mr. Mehmet Fatih Serenli, Director of Training and Technical Cooperation Department at SESRIC, the session heard various international OSH initiatives and their respective programs with the aim of partnering networking, exchanging knowledge, experience and best practices in this important field. The session also discussed pertinent issues regarding potential collaboration opportunities and prospects and challenges for developing a sustainable global OSH agenda thorough regional and international OSH networks, including, among others, the OIC Occupational Safety and Health Network (OIC-OSHNET) which is a platform established for OSH institutions of the OIC Countries.

The 9th International Conference on Occupational Health and Safety was attended by scientists pioneering in their fields, academicians, experts, public officials and professionals; and hosted 31 sessions with numerous presentations and several training courses on different themes.
