Three Syrian doctors have benefited from a “GIT training course on ERCP technique” organised by SESRIC between 03 September and 28 December 2018 at the Ankara Education and Research Hospital in the capital of Turkey, Ankara.

The 3-month training course - one month for each doctor - was designed in line with the OIC Strategic Health Programme of Action (OIC-SHPA) 2013-20124.

The aim was to offer an opportunity to Syrian doctors to improve their skills in ERCP technique in order to provide a better service to patients and to reduce the number of cases referring to Turkey in the future.

SESRIC organised this training course within the framework of its Ibn Sina Health Capacity Programme, initiated in early 2010. With this framework, the Centre organises short-term training programmes regarding the needs and capacities of the OIC Countries in the health sector.
