SESRIC has received a delegation from Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, during their official mission in Turkey, on 25 October 2019 at its Headquarters in Ankara.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the mandate, mission and activities of SESRIC and to explore ways and means to enhance technical cooperation between Qatari institutions and SESRIC through scaling-up South-South achievements within the OIC.

H.E. Mr Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC, welcomed the participants and briefed them on the OIC evolution since its establishment as well as on the three mandated areas of SESRIC, namely, statistics, research and training.

Directors of Statistics and Information Department, Economic and Social Research Department, and Training and Technical Cooperation Department of SESRIC also attended the meeting and provided detailed information on the programmes and activities of their departments.

During their presentations, the directors of these three technical departments highlighted the important role that SESRIC plays in advancing intra-OIC cooperation and promoting the socio-economic development of the Member States through effective partnership and collaboration with relevant OIC, national and international institutions.
