SESRIC hosted a delegation from the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar at its Headquarters in Ankara, Turkey on 04 February 2020.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the evolution of the OIC since its establishment, its organizational structure and institutions as well as on the three mandated areas of SESRIC, namely, Statistics, Research, and Training.

The directors of Statistics and Information, Economic and Social Research, and Training and Technical Cooperation Departments of SESRIC provided detailed information on the programmes and activities conducted under their respective departments.

During the presentations, the important role that SESRIC plays in advancing intra-OIC cooperation and promoting the socio-economic development of the Member States through effective partnership and collaboration with relevant OIC, national and international institutions was highlighted.

The study visit was finalized with a round table discussion about the possibilities of cooperation between SESRIC and the national institutions of Qatar.
