The 2nd Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM) was convened in two parts, Part 1 on 28 February 2009 and Part 2 on 5 March 2009 in Tehran, the Islamic Republic of Iran. The objective of Part 1 of the Second Meeting of Steering Committee was to review the preparation of the Second Islamic Conference of Health Ministers held in Tehran, the Islamic Republic of Iran on 1 – 4 March. The objectives of the Part 2 of the Second Meeting of the Steering Committee were to finalize the Rules of Procedures of the Steering Committee and to discuss the follow up actions on the decisions and recommendations adopted by the same Islamic Conference.

The Meeting was attended by the delegations from OIC Member States, namely Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, Syria and Uganda. Also present were representatives of the OIC General Secretariat, SESRIC, COMSTECH, IDB and ISESCO. The representatives of WHO, United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA), the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria were also present.
