Study Visit on 'Vocational Education Experiences of Turkey'

SESRIC organized a study visit on "Vocational Education Experiences of Turkey" in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey on 26-27 June 2012, in Ankara, Turkey with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Moroccan delegation firstly visited the Turkish Employment Organization (ISKUR), Ministry of Labour and Social Security and they were briefed on activities, projects which are being implemented in collaboration with the other Turkish Ministries. The delegation was also briefed about the operational structure of ISKUR. The delegation visited the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education afterwards. During the meetings with General Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Deputy Undersecretary in charge of Technical and Vocational Education, potential of Morocco on vocational education and possible cooperation areas were discussed.

As a part of the programme, the delegation visited the Tourism and Hotel Management Vocational School and Atatürk Technical and Vocational School for Girls in order to get detail information about the curriculum as well as the physical structure of the schools.

Throughout the visit, the delegation went to Batikent Technical and Industrial Vocational School in order to see the atelier of the school. The delegation also paid a visit to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and was presented on the Turkish education system and activities of TOBB in the field of education. Another site visit was organized to Sincan Erkunt Training Centre which was specialized on production of agricultural machines i.e. tractor. During the visit, the delegation met the students from Somalia practicing at the centre. Further, the delegation was informed that the graduates of the centre are being employed in a firm as a part of the project implemented by the Ministry of National Education after they complete their education.
