The 11th International Scientific Symposium on “Environmental Protection Legislation: Towards Sustainable Development”, was held in the Holy City of Makah al-Mukarramah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the period 1-3 September 2013 in parallel to the 13th General Conference of Organizational of Islamic Capitals and Cities (OICC) and the International Exhibition on “Environmental Protection and Achievements of Islamic Capitals and Cities Municipalities” as the accompanying events of the conference.

The 11th International Scientific Symposium brought together the OICC’s member capitals and cities, universities, scientific and research institutions, non-governmental organizations, civil society institutions, experts and specialists in environment and sustainable development, businessmen, private sector firms and students.

The Exhibition was attended by OICC’s Member Islamic Capitals and Cities, governmental bodies, local, regional and international institutions, consultancy firms as well as private sector to demonstrate the best practices and showcase their scientific, research, applied and technological products through posters, bulletins, systems, programmes and applied projects.
