Economic Cooperation and Development Review

Economic Cooperation and Development Review is an annual periodical of SESRIC which will feature interviews with eminent personalities, short articles on selected issues of economic growth, development and cooperation which are of immediate interest to the member countries, summaries of selected papers and reports prepared by the Centre itself, brief papers and news on current economic developments in individual member countries, interviews with eminent personalities in the Islamic world and elsewhere, and a section on titles and reviews of recently published books.


Journal of Economic Cooperation Among Islamic Countries

The Journal of Economic Cooperation Among Islamic Countries is a journal of applied research in development economics aimed at enhancing cooperation among the members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. The Journal welcomes original papers dealing with important economic and social issues of immediate concern to the OIC Member States. It will give special attention to those papers which deal with the potentials for and possibilities of promoting and expanding economic and technical cooperation among the OIC Member States at regional, communal and/or international levels. The Journal appears in English, in January, April, July and October. An Arabic version of selected articles appears once a year. The Journal is indexed/abstracted in JEL/Econlit.


The Annual Economic Report on the OIC Countries 2008

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) has been preparing the Annual Economic Report on the OIC Countries since 1979 to serve as the basic background document for the agenda item of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) under Economic Affairs entitled “World Economy and the Islamic Countries”. The Centre has been also presenting the Report to the annual sessions of both the Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs (ISCOM) and the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC).


Statistical Yearbook of OIC Member Countries

Awide and dependable statistical information base is essential for all kinds of decision-making processes in any society. To cater for such a need of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Member Countries, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) has been established as a subsidiary organ of the OIC with a multifaceted mandate that includes, in particular, the compilation, processing the dissemination of up-to-date and reliable information and statistics on the major social and economic indicators in the member countries.


Basic Facts and Figures on OIC Member Countries

Since its inception in 1987, the Ankara Centre has been deploying strenuous efforts to form a collection of comprehensive and up-to-date statistics on the Member Countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). The content of this database is regularly updated and enriched essentially on the basis of information collected from the national statistical sources. However, in some instances, it still has to recourse to the international sources for missing data. In such cases, special care is exercised in choosing the most reliable and updated sources. Recently, the Centre is working on a new system through which Member Countries will be able to provide their statistical data and information online.


Information Report

InfoReport is the newsletter of the Centre. It contains news on the activities of the Ankara Centre, news on the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the latest SESRIC publications list and SESRIC Library acquisitions. It is published quarterly in English, French and Arabic and distributed free of charge.
