Basic Facts and Figures on OIC Member Countries 2007 - 2008

The 2007-2008 issue of Basic Facts and Figures on OIC Member Countries has been prepared in a new format, which includes both tabular and graphical illustration on selected basic socio-economic indicators. Up to the year 2006, the format of the publication was merely a tabular one, and time series data for the selected basic indicators were presented for the latest five years in the tables. The recent publication presents a two-page statistical profile for each member country which includes demographic, social and economic overview using the most recent year for which the relevant data are available. These profiles include selected indicators such as growth, structure of economy, labour force, trade, education, health, communication and some other vital statistical indicators.

The Basic Facts and Figures on OIC Member Countries 2007-2008 is a valuable contribution to the Centre’s efforts in providing the necessary and up-to-date information and knowledge to make the Member Countries better informed of each other’s capacities and needs as well as challenges and potentials towards a highly effective cooperation and collaboration.
