SESRIC has released the second issue of its semi-annual periodical Training Cooperation E-Newsletter, which renews its commitment to expand training and technical cooperation activities undertaken by SESRIC and to undertake new initiatives to establish a common platform where related institutions of the OIC Member Countries shall enhance and strengthen relationships among themselves and other stakeholders through SESRIC’s various ongoing and planned projects.

The current issue contains, among other, the official inauguration of the Vocational Education and Training Programme for OIC Member Countries (OIC-VET) by H.E. Abdullah Gül, President of the Republic of Turkey and Chairman of the COMCEC, at the COMCEC Economic Summit in Istanbul, Turkey on 9 November 2009, on the presence of the heads of states and governments of OIC Member Countries. This event marked a new era for OIC Member Countries in acknowledging the role of human capacity building in developmental efforts of our Member Countries and the role of SESRIC in enhancing partnerships and promoting cooperation among related institutions to this end. The OIC-VET Portal has been initiated and now includes a Partners Database which will constitute an optimised virtual pool in which all registered OIC-VET Partners will come together with the aim of facilitating the process of matching their capacities and defining their needs in the related areas of activities in order to effectively plan and implement OIC-VET projects.
