Aims and Scope

The Journal of Economic Cooperation Among Islamic Countries is a journal of applied research in development economics aimed at enhancing cooperation among the members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. The Journal welcomes original papers dealing with important economic and social issues of immediate concern to the OIC Member States. It will give special attention to those papers which deal with the potentials for and possibilities of promoting and expanding economic and technical cooperation among the OIC Member States at regional, communal and/or international levels. The Journal appears in English, in January, April, July and October. An Arabic version of selected articles appears once a year. The Journal is indexed/abstracted in JEL/Econlit.

The Journal of Economic Cooperation Among Islamic Countries is published quarterly by the SESRIC. The SESRIC cannot be held responsible for errors or any consequences arising from the use of information contained in the Journal and the views and opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect those of the SESRIC.  The articles in this Journal may be freely quoted or reprinted provided that the source is mentioned and a copy of the publication containing the quotation or reprint is sent to the SESRIC.

Notes to Contributors

Papers to be submitted should be written in English not exceeding 8000 words. All articles will be refereed. The articles submitted to the Journal of Economic Cooperation among Islamic Countries should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in MS Word format to pubs@sesrtcic.org. Articles must be typewritten, double-spaced and with ample margins and all pages (including those containing any diagrams and tables) must be numbered consecutively. Arabic numerals are to be used throughout.   

The first page of the manuscript should contain the title, name/s and institutional affiliation/s of the author/s.  Contact information including the name, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address of the corresponding author should be provided at the bottom of the first page. An abstract not exceeding 200 words should also be included in this first page.

It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that where copyright materials are included within an article the permission of the copyright holder has been obtained. Confirmation of this should be attached separately.  

All diagrams, charts and graphs should be referred to as figures and consecutively numbered. Tables should be kept to a minimum and contain only essential data. Each figure and table must be given an Arabic numeral, followed by a heading and be referred to in the text.

Special attention should be given to quotations, footnotes and references which should be accurate and complete.  A double-spaced list of references containing all the works referred to is to be added at the end of the article.The reference list style must follow the following examples:
