The training programmes of the Centre were initiated in 1981. Ever since, the Centre has been organising short-term courses/workshops in selected fields of interest to the OIC Member Countries, in collaboration with national, regional and international institutions. Towards this end, the Centre also collaborates with the UN Specialised Agencies, particularly with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), which provides technical support to the Centre for the realisation of its training courses and workshops. Another increasingly important aspect of the Centre's training activities has been the placement of participants of its own choice into well-established training programmes in the Member Countries. All in all, the Centre has so far conducted 63 training programmes and workshops. As a result of this activity, over 1000 participants from Member Countries have been trained and/or had a chance to present their expertise. One important and differentiating feature of the Centre’s training activities is the substantially lower costs at which these programmes on average are realised.
Within this framework, we invite national, regional and international institutions to jointly organise with our Centre, on cost-sharing basis, training programmes and/or workshops on topics of common interest. Such joint activities will, no doubt, add to the specialisation efforts of experts in OIC member countries in general and play an important role in the improvement of their human capital.
Institutions, which are interested in embarking on such a fruitful cooperation with our Centre, may contact us to make their proposals or suggestions in this respect.
