The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries, a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), has been publishing, since 1986, an annual bulletin on the "Training Opportunities in the Member Countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference". The Bulletin which provides detailed information on a wide range of courses and training programmes to be organised by various institutions in the OIC member countries in the year following its publication will be available online at the Centre’s web site (http://www.sesric.org) starting from 2008.
The Centre is currently collecting information to be published in the 2009 issue of the Bulletin. Therefore, you will find a questionnaire at the web site in tropquest_2009.doc requesting information relating to the training programmes to be organized by your institution during the year 2009.
The questionnaire is self-explanatory and can be duplicated. So, you are kindly requested to provide information relating to each training course in one of the three official languages of the OIC (Arabic, English and French) in which the training will be conducted and make sure to indicate, whether or not the course is open to participants from the OIC member countries.
The courses are short-term, high-level ones, workshops and/or seminars which are open to participants from the OIC member countries and designed for experienced staffs who aim at increasing their skills/knowledge in their areas of expertise. Therefore, information on vocational training courses and academic cycles leading to a degree should not be included.
We would appreciate it if you could make as many copies of the questionnaire’s related pages as the number of courses to be organized by your institution and kindly return them by mail, fax or e-mail to the Centre before December, 31 2008.
