OIC Water Network

Maximizing the productive use of water and minimizing its destructive impacts is a common and major challenge for the OIC region. The OIC Member States’ great diversity and common water challenges, coupled with their shared beliefs, provide an extraordinary opportunity for working together to ensure a water secure future and, sharing varied experiences and learning from other countries’ best practices. Within this framework, the OIC Water Network facilitates and encourages joint research, knowledge sharing, and exchange of experience through connecting the Centers of Excellence within the OIC region in water science, policy, management and technology development areas. The detailed objectives of the OIC Water Network are:

  • Connecting institutions within the OIC region in the domain of water and technology development to build capacity, share and enhance knowledge, and conduct joint research;

  • Providing platform for experts to exchange knowledge, share information, case studies, experiences and best practices;

  • Spreading knowledge, facilitating dialogue and exploring opportunities to address water related challenges;

  • Leveraging existing knowledge for evidence-based policies, plans, strategies and programmes; and

  • Conducting advocacy and policy dialogue among the Centres of Excellence through synergies and interlinkages.
