Capacity Development Training on ‘Technology Incubation and Transfer’

SESRIC organised a capacity development training on “Technology Incubation and Transfer” on 17 June - 19 July 2019 in Bursa, Turkey within the framework of the Reverse Linkage Project between Sudan and Turkey on Capacity Development of the Africa City of Technology (ACT).

Eight technical staff from ACT received instructor-led training in the Uludağ University Technology Development Zone (ULUTEK) on five topics:

  • Introduction to techno-park, technology clustering and incubation
  • Industry, scientific research and university collaborations
  • Building an entrepreneurial eco-system
  • Intellectual property management
  • Project management

The Reverse Linkage Project between Sudan and Turkey is an initiative carried out in partnership between SESRIC, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Turkish Coordination and Cooperation Agency (TIKA), the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Marmara Technopark (MARTEK), Uludağ University Technology Development Zone (ULUTEK) and Africa City of Technology (ACT).

The aim of the project is to promote technology localisation in Sudan and, in particular, to enhance the capacities of ACT in technology incubation. ACT was established in Khartoum in 2008 to encourage development and investment in various fields of technology.
