SESRIC and OSTİM Technical University join hands for international cooperation

SESRIC and OSTIM Technical University organised a joint orientation meeting on international cooperation on 13 June 2019 in Ankara, Turkey.

The objective of the meeting was to explore the modalities of cooperation between the two institutions, in areas of common concern, particularly capacity development, industrial clustering, business incubation and vocational education and training.

H.E. Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC, Mr. Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of OSTIM and Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, Rector of OSTIM Technical University, attended the meeting, along with managers and experts from SESRIC, OSTIM Industrial Zone, and OSTIM Technical University.

During the meeting, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Serenli, Director of Training and Technical Cooperation Department at SESRIC, delivered a presentation on the role of SESRIC in enhancing technical cooperation among Member Countries in its three mandate area, namely statistics, research and training, serving to the knowledge and capacity needs of relevant national institutions.

Mr. Adem Arıcı, The Regional Director of OSTIM Industrial Zone, presented the history, mission and activities of OSTIM, the leading industrial zone in Turkey and the world with 17 main sectors, 139 line of works, 5200 businesses, 8 techno parks, 12 industry zone, and 60000 employees, giving opportunities to investors who wants to be part of competitive and innovative projects. Later on, detailed information about 7 industrial clusters was given by the coordinators.

Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, Rector of OSTIM Technical University, introduced the newly established university with its innovative philosophy in teaching and coaching students, engaging them with industry and business communities locally available in OSTIM.

Throughout the deliberations, H.E. Mr. Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC, stressed the importance of sharing best practices among member countries in the area of industrial zones, technology incubation and industrial clustering, and stated that OSTIM can be a good example as a model for regional development for many countries.

After the meeting, a visit was organised to OSTIM Industrial Zone and OSTIM Technical University.
