Building Capacities in Health Statistics: SESRIC and National Agency of Statistics and Demography (ANSD) of Senegal sign MoA

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and National Agency of Statistics and Demography (ANSD) of Senegal have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to facilitate collaboration and cooperation between both institutions within the framework of the “Integration of the ‘Tobacco Questions for Surveys (TQS)’ into the National Surveys in OIC Member States” project. The MoA was signed on 25 September 2014 by Prof. Savaş Alpay, Director General of SESRIC, and Mr. Aboubacar Beye, Director General of ANSD of Senegal.

During the implementation period, SESRIC will support the ANSD of Senegal during the different phases of the integration of TQS into its national Continuous Demographic and Health Survey (C-DHS), to harmonize and standardize the monitoring of key tobacco control indicators for evidence-based policy making and promote sustainability through frequent collection of the tobacco use data.
