OIC City of Tourism For 2020

Gabala (Republic of Azerbaijan) was chosen as the ‘OIC City of Tourism’ for 2020 during the 10th Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers (ICTM) held on 5-7 February 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Conference was attended by high-level representatives and ministers of tourism of the OIC Member States.

Within the framework of the commemoration activities of the OIC City of Tourism, the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, will organize an Official Launch Ceremony on the sidelines of the 11th ICTM that will be held on 3-4 June 2020. Throughout the year, relevant OIC institutions in cooperation with the OIC General Secretariat and the Republic of Azerbaijan will organize a number of activities such as seminars and exhibitions in Gabala to commemorate the OIC City of Tourism for 2020.

Gabala is one of Azerbaijan’s foremost resort towns, counterpointing a beautiful landscape with an exceptional array of upmarket yet great value hotels. Gabala Airport is around 20 km to the city centre and has domestic and international flights.
