Summer School on Islamic Economics and Finance

SESRIC organised a Summer School on Islamic Economics and Finance in collaboration with Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, the Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance, Borsa Istanbul and Participation Banks Association of Turkey on 17-20 June 2014. The main purpose of the summer school was to give fundamental knowledge about Islamic finance and economics and provide an opportunity for the specialists in the field to cooperate and promote Islamic finance.

The summer school was attended by the participants from different OIC member countries. The speakers of the school were both well-known academicians and practitioners in the field, namely Mehmet Asutay, Habib Ahmed and Humayon Dar representing Durham University, Zamir Iqbal from World Bank, Joseph Falzon from University of Malta, Orhan Erdem from Borsa Istanbul, Bilkis Ismail from Barrister, Ahmet Şuayb Gündoğdu from Islamic Development Bank and Mehmet Bulut from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.
