Regional Workshop on 'Spatial Measurements and Statistics, using GIS Technique, for GCC'

In accordance with its 2015 Annual Work Plan, SESRIC organised the Regional Workshop on ‘Spatial Measurements and Statistics, using GIS Technique, for GCC’ hosted by National Bureau of Statistics of the United Arab Emirates (NBS) on 10-14 May 2015. The Regional Workshop was conducted by Mr. Birkan Ergüç and Ms. Ayşenur Özcan, Experts at the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), with participation of official statisticians from the GCC region.

During the 5-day Regional Workshop, the following topics was covered with practical exercises:

  • Visualization of Spatial Data
  • Analyzing Point Patterns

  • Analyzing Spatially Continuous Data
  • Exploration Methods for 1st Order Effects
  • Exploration Methods for 2nd Order Effects
  • Modelling Spatially Continuous Data
  • Analyzing "Lattice" Data
