Amb. Kulaklıkaya paid a one-day official visit to İstanbul

Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), paid a one-day official visit to İstanbul on 23rd June 2015.

Having travelled to İstanbul to attend the launching ceremony of Istanbul- OIC Youth Capital and iftar dinner organized by Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC), Amb. Kulaklıkaya expanded his visit to conduct various meetings with the institutions cooperating with SESRIC.

During his visit to İstanbul, Amb. Kulaklıkaya was accompanied by Mr. Mehmet Fatih Serenli, Director of Training and Technical Cooperation Department of SESRIC.

  • In İstanbul, Amb. Kulaklıkaya met Mr. Hayri Baraçlı, Secretary General of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality where they discussed local administration practices and vocational courses.
  • Issues regarding the metrology, standardization and accreditation were discussed in the meeting with Mr İhsan Övüt, President of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).
  • During the meeting with Amb. Elshad H. Iskandarov, Secretary General of the ICYF-DC issues of youth and fight against drug abuse and addiction were conversed.
  • In the meeting with the Doctors Worldwide, potential areas for cooperation including volunteer doctors, provision of consultancy and training services on health sector, conducting surgeries and health screening campaigns in the OIC Countries were elaborated.
  • In addition to these, Amb. Kulaklıkaya also met Mr. Ekrem Keskin, Secretary General of Turkish Banks Association TBB and Mr. Zamir Iqbal, Lead Financial Sector Specialist of World Bank Global Islamic Finance Development Center to discuss the conventional banking practices and Islamic finance instruments and statistics.

SESRIC has been conducting projects for coordination and cooperation activities in several areas with the institutions of the OIC Member Countries, particularly that of Turkey.
