SESRIC and Libyan Authority for Research, Science and Technology (LARST) signed MoU

The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and the Libyan Authority for Research, Science and Technology (LARST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide a general framework to develop partnership between SESRIC and LARST so as to conduct analytical studies and researches in the areas of common interest. The MoU was signed on 26 February 2016 by H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC, and Assoc. Prof. Faisal A. Mohamed General Manager of LARST in Ankara.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation on capacity building of relevant Libyan national institutions, including government agencies, universities, research centres, think-tanks and NGOs. The MoU will support jointly the efforts of Libyan institutions by means of organising training programmes, seminars, congresses, conferences, workshops, working groups and other activities in order to exchange intra-OIC knowledge and experience. Another aim is to strengthen the engagement of Libyan institutions with key partners in other OIC Member Countries, in a view to support them to become strong partners towards achieving the change and progress in Libya.

The Libyan Authority for Research, Science & Technology, part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is responsible for research, and maintaining a reasonable level of scientific progress in accordance with a national scientific research policy.
