19th Meeting of COMSATS Coordinating Council

The 19th Meeting of COMSATS Coordinating Council was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on 17-18 May 2016. The meeting was hosted by COMSATS’ Centre of Excellence, the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) in Pakistan.

COMSATS is an intergovernmental organisation with its permanent Secretariat based in Islamabad and strives to promote South-South cooperation in the fields of Science and Technology that are most relevant to socio-economic development.

A Network of 20 Centres of Excellence in four continents affiliated with COMSATS, provides the necessary pool of human resources and scientific infrastructure for undertaking a variety of capacity-building programs, bilateral and multilateral cooperative research and consultancy/advocacy for the promotion of S&T as primary ingredient of national development plans.

SESRIC and COMSTAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2015 in order to conduct joint programs, projects and activities in the field of vocational training, scientific research and statistics for the benefit of the common member states.
