H.E. Ambassador Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and Mrs. Ola Awad-Shakhshir, President of Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 20 April 2016 in Ramallah, State of Palestine.

The purpose of this Memorandum is to enhance cooperation between PCBS and SESRIC. Both institutions aim is to strengthen national statistical system of Palestine through agreeing on the following issues:

• Collaborating on the promotion, preparation and organization of training programs, short courses, seminars, workshops, conferences on selected fields of official statistics;
• Exchanging technical expertise, best practices and know-how in the area of statistics, including fostering where appropriate links between the programmes of both parties exist.

The PCBS is the official statistical institution of the State of Palestine. Its main task is to provide credible statistical figures at the national level. It provides service to the governmental, non – governmental and private sectors in addition to research institutions and international organisations.
