Training Course on 'Business Registers' in Egypt

In accordance with its 2016 Annual Work Plan and within the framework of Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, SESRIC organised the Training Course on ‘Business Registers’ at Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) of Arab Republic of Egypt on 26-28 April 2016.

The Training Course was conducted by Mrs. Siti Haslinda Mohd Din, Director of Business Registers Statistics at the Department of Statistics of Malaysia with the participation of relevant officials of the CAPMAS.

As defined in the Classification of Statistical Activities (CSA Rev. 1 - October 2009); http://goo.gl/olg3Tz Business Registers Statistics – includes methodology and organisation of economic and agricultural censuses, development and maintenance of statistical business and agricultural registers.

The course included discussion activities and covered the following topics:

  • Overview of Statistical Business Register(SBR)
  • Coverage of SBR
  • The role of SBR
  • Units in SBR: Specification, ID & variables
  • Data sources of SBR
  • Maintenance and Quality of the SBR
  • Statistical Business Register: Malaysia Experience
