Venue: Geneva-Switzerland -

International Labour Office (ILO) organized the “Third Meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Partnership for Social Protection Systems and Floors’’ on 24 October 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of progress made in achieving SDG 1.3 and universal social protection, and provided an update on the ILO’s Global Flagship Programme on building social protection floors for all. It also provided a unique platform to discuss current and future challenges, promote Universal Social Protection, and work towards ILO Centenary celebrations on social protection titled “100 years of social protection at the ILO: the road to universal social protection”.

The ILO’s Global Flagship Programme on Building Social Protection Floors for All was launched in 2016 and aims to change 130 million lives by 2020 through establishing comprehensive social protection systems in 21 countries and conducting a global knowledge development and education campaign. The program targets children, working age women and men, and older persons to reduce poverty and inequalities and foster growth and development.
