Statistics Course on ‘Methodologies and Best International Practices for Conducting Household Expenditure Survey’ in Brunei

SESRIC organised a Statistics Course on ‘Methodologies and Best International Practices for Conducting Household Expenditure Survey’ on 8-10 April 2019 at the Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE) of Brunei within the framework of OIC Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme.

The Course was conducted by Mrs. Azura binti ARZEMI, Principle Assistant Director of Prices, Income and Expenditure Statistics Division at the Department of Statistics of Malaysia (DoSM), with the participation of 27 officials of the JPKE of Brunei.

The Course included discussion activities with a focus on the following topics:

  • UN Recommendation on Collecting Income and Expenditure Data;
  • Overview of Household Income and Expenditure Survey in Malaysia;
  • Survey Methodology;
  • Survey Operation and Data Processing;
  • Analysing Income and Expenditure Data;
  • Data Analytics; and
  • Dissemination of Income and Expenditure Statistics
