The OIC High-Level Public and Private Investment Conference under the theme of “Unleashing Intra-OIC Investment Opportunities: Investment for Solidarity and Development” was organised on 8-9 December 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey in collaboration with the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Investment Office, OIC General Secretariat, and Islamic Development Bank Group. SESRIC participated in the Conference with a delegation headed by H.E. Mr Nebil DABUR, Director General of SESRIC.

Inaugurated by HE Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Republic of Turkey, with the presences of HE Mr. Alpha CONDE, President of Republic of Guinea, prime ministers of Albania and Guinea-Bissau, and relevant ministers from OIC countries, the Conference had the objective to assess the investment opportunities and implications associated with doing business in the OIC countries by involving all key stakeholders and allowing them to make informed decisions about investments and reforms.

On the second day of the Conference, SESRIC took part as a panellist in the session titled “The Business Intelligence Ecosystem Role in Tackling the Data Revolution”. SESRIC presented the risks and opportunities related to “data revolution” and how to mobilise the data revolution for sustainable development.

The Conference also gave the opportunity to participants from public and private sectors in OIC countries to make initial contacts through B2B and B2G meetings concerning investment opportunities in their countries.
