H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Paid a Courtesy Visit to SESRIC

H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), on 17 January 2020, in Ankara, Republic of Turkey. During his visit, H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, met with H.E. Mr Nebil Dabur, the Director General of SESRIC and the Directors of the Centre along with all the staff of the Centre.

On behalf of all SESRIC Staff, H.E. Mr Dabur expressed his warmly welcome and deep thanks and gratitude to H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, for honouring SESRIC with this courtesy visit and for designating a part of his valuable time for this visit. He mentioned that this visit is a real indicator on the continuous support that SESRIC has been receiving over the last four decades since its establishment from the host country, the Republic of Turkey, and particularly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

H.E. Mr Dabur, the Director General of SESRIC, briefed H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, on the mandate, which has been given to the Centre 40 years ago. In his presentation, the Director General highlighted the various modalities, which the Centre has developed over the years to implement this mandate in the three areas of statistics, research and training.

On his part, H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, extended his gratitude to H.E. Mr Nebil Dabur for the hospitality. H.E. Mr Kıran also addressed the staff of SESRIC. In his address, he underlined the importance of being in unity and solidarity for Islamic Countries (Muslim Ummah). H.E. Mr Kıran also highlighted that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey appreciates the work and studies of SESRIC and while having full trust of the experienced staff of the Centre, they will also continue extending their support to SESRIC.

Following an exchange of plaques and gifts ceremony, H.E. Mr Yavuz Selim Kıran visited SESRIC Library and a short exhibition overlooking brief history of the OIC and SESRIC. H.E. Mr. Nebil Dabur also briefed him on SESRIC Publications, which have been displayed in the Library. The meeting finalised with a family photo with all SESRIC staff in front of the SESRIC Headquarters.
