SESRIC to Participate in the 2020 Virtual UN World Data Forum

SESRIC will participate in the 2020 Virtual UN World Data Forum to be organised on 19-21 October 2020 by the Federal Statistical Office of Switzerland with support from the UN Statistics Division under the guidance of the UN Statistical Commission and the High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 2020 Virtual UN World Data Forum will focus on highlighting innovations and new initiatives in bridging the data gaps, addressing the unmet need for financing for data and statistics, and building concrete solutions and outcomes to modernize national statistical systems.

Through the six thematic areas including: New approaches to capacity development for better data, Innovations and synergies across data ecosystems, Leaving no one behind, Understanding the world through data, Building trust in data and statistics, and How far have we come?, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and engage in discussions in a variety of interactive formats. The importance of more and better financing for data and statistics and the response of the donor community will be an important topic at the forum.
