Training Course on ‘Water Saving and Management in Agriculture Sector’

Within the framework of SESRIC’s Water Resources Management Capacity Building Programme (Water-CaB), SESRIC organized a training course on “Water Saving and Management in Agriculture Sector” on 24-28 August 2020, for the benefit of 40 experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Republic of Benin. The course was conducted through a video conferencing platform by following synchronous learning and instruction approaches.

The training course was delivered by the Director General of the Agricultural Extension and Vocational Training Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fishing and Water Resources of the Republic of Tunisia. The course mainly focused on the following subjects:

  • Quality of irrigation water and its impact on soil and yields;
  • Agro-meteorological and physico-chemical data;
  • Surface infiltration and sprinkler irrigation.

The training course was designed in line with the virtual training solutions undertaken by SESRIC in order to better serve the Centre’s training activities and keep participants motivated and engaged during this time of global crisis due to COVID-19.
