H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Wafaa BANI MUSTAFA, Minister of Social Development of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on 14 June 2023 at the Ministry's Headquarters in Amman, Jordan.

H.E. Wafaa BANI MUSTAFA and her team extended a warm welcome to the SESRIC delegation, and H.E. SELÇUK expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the heartfelt hospitality.

H.E. SELÇUK elaborated on the significant endeavors undertaken by SESRIC in the domain of social development over the years. She highlighted the Centre's extensive range of published reports, which provide valuable insights and analysis on various social development issues faced by OIC countries. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of statistical data in formulating evidence-based policies and strategies to address socio-economic challenges. SESRIC's comprehensive collection and analysis of data contribute to informed decision-making processes, enabling OIC Countries to effectively tackle social development issues and promote inclusive growth.

Moreover, she emphasized SESRIC's commitment to capacity-building and training activities in the field of social development within the framework of its Social Development Capacity Building Programme (SD-CaB). These activities play a crucial role in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of professionals and policymakers in OIC Countries. By organizing workshops, training courses, and knowledge-sharing events, SESRIC facilitates the exchange of best practices and innovative approaches, fostering a collaborative environment for addressing social development challenges in the OIC countries.

H.E. BANI MUSTAFA expressed the Ministry of Social Development's readiness and willingness to deepen the existing ties with SESRIC. She acknowledged the importance of SESRIC's work in the realm of social development and recognized the potential for mutual collaboration and shared expertise. H.E. the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to actively contribute to SESRIC's various activities in relevant fields, aiming to foster sustainable social development and improve the well-being of individuals and communities within Jordan and across the OIC Countries.

Both parties concluded the meeting by expressing their shared interest in establishing closer cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU will serve as a formal agreement, outlining the areas of collaboration and setting the stage for a structured partnership between SESRIC and the Ministry of Social Development. Through this enhanced cooperation, the two institutions seek to strengthen their collective efforts in advancing social development, exchanging knowledge and expertise, and addressing the unique challenges faced by OIC countries in this crucial domain.
