On July 25, 2023, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Serkan KAYALAR, President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), at the TIKA Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye. This visit was characterized by productive and constructive discussions pertaining to development initiatives undertaken by both institutions.

H.E. SELÇUK emphasized the pivotal role of SESRIC as a subsidiary body of the OIC, focusing on research, technical cooperation, and training. It was underscored that SESRIC remains devoted to supporting OIC countries in their pursuit of sustainable development, offering comprehensive economic analyses, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and assisting in the implementation of key developmental initiatives.

Both parties agreed that the strong and enduring ties forged over the years have significantly contributed to the development and prosperity of OIC countries. Through this partnership, notable challenges such as education and healthcare facilities, infrastructure, and other vital areas have been addressed.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), is a government agency under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye. TIKA was established in 1992 with the aim of providing humanitarian aid and technical assistance to developing countries. TIKA, renowned for its instrumental role in implementing large-scale projects worldwide, has actively intervened in approximately 150 countries, whereas 40 projects have been successfully completed in OIC countries.
