H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met on 3 October 2023 with H.E. Mr. Mohammed Ali AL QAED, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) of Kingdom of Bahrain on the sidelines of the 12^th Session of OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom) held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On her part, the Director General of SESRIC touched upon the critical role of data in evidence-based decision making. Accordingly, she stated that the statistical activities of the Centre that have also been benefitted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, are significantly facilitating the exchange of statistical experience and knowledge among the OIC Countries.

H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK and H.E. Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed expressed their mutual enthusiasm for exploring venues of cooperation between SESRIC and iGA concerning topics of mutual interest in official statistics and information and communication technology. The both parties discussed as well efficient utilization of technology in statistical work, and experiences gained from the Bahrain Open Data Platform.

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) is the Kingdom of Bahrain’s digital authority and official statistics agency which facilitates many services catering to different parts of the community within the IT sector, such as proposing public policies, suitable legislation, and decisions for the implementation of the eGovernment programs as well as necessary information technology and statistics programs.
