H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with H.E Mrs. Reem AL FALASI, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood of the UAE to Explore Synergies in the Field of Social Development

In her diplomatic engagements in the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mrs. Reem AL FALASI, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC) of the UAE. The meeting provided both sides to discuss possible cooperation between SESRIC and SCMC aimed at advancing social development and enhancing the welfare of women and children.

In the meeting, H.E. SELÇUK introduced to H.E. AL FALASI the activities of the Centre in the fields of statistics, socio-economic research, technical cooperation and training. She went on to highlight the importance of evidence-based decision-making and emphasized the need for collaboration to bring about synergies. She also expressed the commitment of SESRIC in delivering reliable data and in-depth research on social development.

On her part, H.E. AL FALASI welcomed the SESRIC delegation and expressed her appreciation for SESRIC’s activities for the benefit of OIC countries. She briefed on the activities and programmes of SCMC of the UAE and underscored the potential benefits of collaborating with SESRIC in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting concluded with exchange of ideas for the possible next steps towards making a positive impact on women and children’s welfare and joining hands to drive positive change in social development.

The Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood is an independent governmental organization that looks after all the mothers and children in the United Arab Emirates. The Council collaborating with different entities launched strategies that aim to promote welfare and development for mothers and children in all fields. Establishing a primary reference to direct professionals and organizations towards continued progress of maternal and child care.
