The SESRIC delegation headed by Mr. Fadi Abdullah FARASIN, Assistant Director General of SESRIC, participated in the 43^rd Meeting of the Sessional Committee, which was held virtually.

The objective of the meeting was to review and coordinate the activities and programs of OIC institutions and to report to COMCEC Sessions. The meeting was chaired by the COMCEC Coordination Office and attended by representatives of the OIC institutions working in the fields of economy and commerce.

Mr. FARASIN provided the Committee with a comprehensive overview of SESRIC’s implemented and planned activities across the cooperation areas of the COMCEC. These activities have been specifically designed to serve the implementation of COMCEC Strategy and COMCEC Ministerial Policy Recommendations. Under this framework, 175 activities have been implemented or are planned across various sectors, including trade, private sector engagement in economic cooperation, finance, transport and communications, tourism, agriculture, and poverty alleviation, among others.

Furthermore, Mr. FARASIN informed the Committee about various Projects carried out by SESRIC under the 10^th Call for Project Proposals of the COMCEC Project Funding. Furthermore, this year, SESRIC has submitted nine new project proposals within the framework of the 11^th for Project Proposals of the COMCEC Project Funding. These proposals were designed in collaboration with relevant national institutions in the member countries with a view to enhancing the human resources and institutional capacities in the cooperation areas of the COMCEC in the OIC Countries.

The meeting concluded with a fruitful discussion on the ways to further strengthen collaboration among OIC institutions and to enhance the effectiveness of their programs in support of the COMCEC cooperation agenda.
