SESRIC and Islamic Development Bank Discuss Collaboration on Resilience and Climate Action Initiatives

SESRIC and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) held an online technical meeting to enhance their collaborative efforts and explore potential joint initiatives in resilience and climate action. The meeting aligns with their ongoing commitment to support sustainable development within the OIC region.

During the meeting, SESRIC presented a comprehensive overview of its Capacity Building Programmes, with a special focus on initiatives and reports aimed at empowering women and youth. The discussions delved into the strategic documents and programmes of both organizations, underlining their combined efforts to foster sustainable development across various sectors.

SESRIC shared detailed insights into its ongoing initiatives and research, particularly in entrepreneurship activities for women and youth. The Centre also shed light on successful collaborations with IsDB, such as the Reverse Linkage projects for Pakistan and Bangladesh. Furthermore, there was a significant discussion on joint statistical capacity building, including initiatives related to SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and other relevant areas. The meeting underscored the importance of integrating these initiatives into broader projects for enhanced impact and visibility.

Both parties discussed their research interests and ongoing projects, with IsDB highlighting its efforts in creating “Gender Profiles” for member countries and implementing projects on “Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship”. SESRIC conveyed its readiness to collaborate with IsDB in conducting capacity building activities and research on topics of mutual interest, particularly in women and youth-related issues in OIC Member Countries.

The meeting concluded with both organizations reaffirming their commitment to strengthen their partnership. This collaboration is recognized as essential for the benefit of the OIC countries, with both parties looking forward to future joint initiatives and knowledge sharing opportunities.
