SESRIC hosted a bilateral discussion with MEDSTAT V (Euro Mediterranean Statistical Cooperation) on possible partnership programmes at its Headquarters in Ankara, Türkiye on 22 November 2023.

Considering the importance of statistical cooperation at regional and international levels, the meeting discussed potential cooperation areas to create synergies for achieving the mutual objectives. Among others, Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme and Statistical Experience Sharing Webinar Series of the Centre have been introduced as possible avenues for future cooperation. On the other hand, the Centre is invited to join the working group meetings and capacity building and training activities of MEDSTAT V based on the prioritized or selected thematic statistical areas.

MEDSTAT V is the regional statistical programme in the Southern Neighbourhood countries of the European Union (EU). The purpose of MEDSTAT V is to improve the development, production and dissemination of reliable and comparable statistical data in the Southern Neighbourhood countries as well as to strengthen the institutional capacity of the partner countries’ National Statistical Institutes and other producers of official statistics.
