H.E. Zehra Zümrüt SELÇUK met with Mr Hazem ZAKI, Deputy Minister, Regional Economic Organisation’s Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the 39^th Ministerial Session of the COMCEC, on 5 December 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

During the meeting, they discussed potential areas of collaboration between SESRIC and Egyptian authorities, particularly in the field of industrial development and renewable energy solutions. Both parties expressed their eagerness to collaborate closely in areas of shared interest for the benefit of the OIC countries.

In addition, H.E. SELÇUK explained that SESRIC implements various activities under its 21 sector-specific capacity-building programs to benefit OIC countries. She added that Egypt is included in all the proceedings and technical reports on social and economic domains prepared by SESRIC. Moreover, Egyptian national institutions have benefited from a total of 100 activities related to capacity-building and technical cooperation since 2017.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to further increase the collaboration between SESRIC and Egyptian national institutions for the benefit of the OIC countries.
