SESRIC and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) held a Coordination Meeting
Date: 13 December 2023
Venue: Virtual-SESRIC, Ankara - Türkiye

SESRIC and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) held an online coordination meeting to discuss on the preparations for the upcoming new edition of the report “State of Youth in the OIC Member States” and to explore further collaboration between the two institutions.

The report is regularly prepared by SESRIC in partnership with the ICYF and submitted to the biennial sessions of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers (ICYSM) – as mandated by the 3rd Session of the Conference, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, in October 2016. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the latest situation of youth in the OIC countries in various areas of relevance such as education and skills development, health and wellbeing, and employment. The report also identifies the key challenges faced by youth in the contemporary world and draws a set of policy recommendations.

The OIC countries have held five sessions of the ICYSM so far, the latest being in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 7-9 September 2022. The sixth session is expected to be held in 2024.

SESRIC and the ICYF will continue to work together and unite their efforts in youth-related fields for the benefit of the OIC countries.
